Its inauguration was celebrated in May of 1964 by the governor Aaron Merino Fernandez, on the crossing of Alvaro Obregon and Andres Quintana Roo.

The monument was divided into three levels, on the top you can find the embodiment of the homeland as a woman with a lance and plume, below her you will find her children: Miguel Hidalgo, Benito Juarez and Jose Maria Morelos. Finally on the circular base is a golden eagle with its glorious wings expanded.

Each year, ceremonies are held around the wings where flower offerings are placed.
