 I Deliver, I Trust, I Accept, and I Appreciate!

I remember that once, leafing through a copy of the magazine "Bons Fluidos", I came across a text with the title "I Deliver, I Trust, I Accept, and I Appreciate" and the photo of Professor Hermógenes (a great writer and disseminator of Hatha Yoga in Brazil).

I don't remember exactly the facts recounted there, but I remember a brief story he told saying that when he was a little boy he was drowning in the sea and the lifeguard, when trying to save him, said, "I'm going to save you, but don't try to help me or we'll both die, just give yourself up and relax and we'll get out of here."

At the end of this situation, when he was already on dry land, Hermogenes reflected on this conversation he had with the lifeguard and came up with these four little words: I Deliver, I Trust, I Accept, and I Appreciate.

Since the day I read this report, I have never forgotten these words. In many moments of tension or worry, I refer to them and calm down. There is no use in resisting the natural flow of life.

Like a river, it flows on and on, showing us each day a new challenge, a new lesson, or a new reward.

Everyone is experiencing what they can and should experience, each within their own level of evolution and development.

Resisting will always hurt more, so we must simply surrender and trust, because everything has a cause, an explanation, and a lesson to be learned.

If we resist and try to control, at some point this lesson will have to be taught again and we will be faced with this issue once more.

And really, if you reflect a little, recall some difficulty you have had in your life and think about how it was solved.

What attitude did you take? Did you resist or trust?

And now, looking from the outside, what was more worthwhile to have had as an attitude?

Delivering and trusting takes away any and all tension that some problem creates in us. And even more so the acceptance, which offers us peace, calmness and understanding, and even generates an urge to give thanks. And to reach this point is really rewarding and very worthwhile.
