Morphogenetic Field - The invisible force that affects your life

The purpose of this text is to help you awaken to the idea of the immense collective force that actively exists in a morphogenetic field. I think it is important to consider this phenomenon that influences the collective, considering that we live in a world dominated predominantly by ego, individualism, and competition, to the detriment of cooperation.

Specifically, morphogenetic field is a theory formulated by the English biologist Rupert Sheldrake to explain that patterns of individual attitudes that become habits through repetition, that involve several people and end up consolidating themselves as a collective behavior and, therefore, a major force.

Thus, the more people that are involved, the easier and faster the behavior change. The word morph comes from the Greek word morphe, meaning form. Morphogenetic fields can be understood as orders and structures that shape behavior patterns.

In other words, it is as if there is an invisible pattern that functions to give order to a system of living organisms. Considering that the universe is chaotic in essence, this field function promotes balance all the time to unite and strengthen systems.

Sheldrake exemplifies this with the "organization of termites". Even if a termite tree is dismantled, changing its shape, the termites, even if blind, rebuild the original shape. Do you know why? Because there is a field that will insist on giving shape again.

So we are influenced, whether we know it or not, by fields such as your family, your workplace, the place where you live, your group of friends, your school, etc.

A field is formed by the repetition of habits of its participants. In terms of habits, a story that I like very much and that serves to polish what I am talking about, is that experiment called the "hundredth monkey".

The story goes that on the coast of Japan, on an island, scientists were observing the habits of a bunch of monkeys. After a few months of observation, an unusual event happened. One of the monkeys picked a coconut, broke it, drank the liquid and ate the pulp. Something quite simple for us, but completely new for the first monkey.

What happened next was that, little by little, the other monkeys, one by one, began to do the same.

Finally, what was even more fascinating was what the scientists noticed on other distant islands, even without any communication at all: that as soon as 100 monkeys in the researched tribe were reached, all the other tribes on other islands also started doing the same thing. Fantastic!

An interesting thing to know is that morphogenic fields do not carry energy but INFORMATION. For example, in an experiment done with communication between dogs and their owners, even isolating the possibility of any connection by thought, telepathy or electromagnetic effect, see what happened. In this experiment, a dog was used, which was being monitored on video in aapartment, and its owner, who was traveling in another country without knowing the day of his return.

Then something amazing happened, when its owner was told by the research team that the return would happen immediately. At that very moment, the dog filmed went to the door of the apartment and waited for its owner to arrive.

To understand more easily what Rupert Sheldrake's morphogenetic field is, it is better to observe certain examples from nature, like in this YouTube video, where a flock of birds moves following a perfect route in synchrony as if it had an invisible guidance order.

The same example occurs with a shoal. A while ago, I did this experiment myself playing with my daughter with a small school of fish. You touch anywhere near them and all the fish move in perfect order.

The fields, once formed, function as a larger mind, and thus the strength of the fields becomes greater than that of the individuals. So to change this structure one must change the system as a whole.

For example, the morphogenetic field of an orange tree has the same structure as the morphogenetic fields of previous orange trees of the same type. In other words, the morphogenetic fields of all past systems are present for similar systems and influence them cumulatively through space and time.

Conclusion

In short, why is it important to know the idea of morphogenetic or morphic field? Response: Because the field theory is present in many ways (work, families, social groups, etc.) and this affects your life for sure. So imagine if several groups started to practice GOOD habits, how much collective transformation we could create.

Finally, knowing this, you can become more empowered to make changes when necessary, valuing both the individual aspects and your group. In a family or in a company, there is a larger system than the perceived organizational system. This is what family constellation or organizational systemic constellation points out. This means that there is already an invisible order there, and knowing how to fit the pieces in the right place is the only way for the system to flow.

You, for example, may be an excellent professional in a position in a company, but if you are placed in a system where you belong to a family member you will not do well. It is like sitting two people in the same chair, and in this case it is you who will need to leave. You will find it difficult to stay in this position. This is just another example.

Finally, also as a professional coach, I can say that a coaching process is most successful when a consistent relational field is formed between coach and coachee. If a tuned field is not formed, the other techniques will not be as effective.
