 OM and its meaning

Tom Cross

There is a traditional phrase that goes like this: "He who sings sings his woes away". How about changing it to: "He who keeps his wickedness away Mantra means (man= mind and tra= control) to produce sound. Mantra has transformative power, especially when it is chanted, because it is possible to notice the frequency of love and a sense of tranquility.

Some religions and traditions carry with them philosophies that go far beyond a holy book. This is the case with the syllable Om which comes from the Vedas (one of India's most important writings), and has great importance in Eastern culture.

According to Georg Feuerstein, bestselling author "The Yoga Tradition" , a Sanskrit word means avati raksati which is that which protects and blesses. In many schools and traditions, the syllable Om is considered a universal sound. Many Indian sages further state that:

The psychotherapeutic efficacy of OM is considered limitless."

In this way, the blanket Om is considered the oldest and emanates the universe, where it is possible to find an inner essence by chanting this mantra.
